Alexandra’s parents lingered in her apartment after the celebrations.

“Dr.Alexandra. Wow,” said her dad when he finally left.

Alex owed much to her parents and the scholarship from Sharpeye technologies. Flopping onto her couch, she scanned the TV and reflected on how an undergraduate drone project had enriched her life. Her Artificial Intelligence algorithm for its vision system paid for her doctorate.

She froze. The TV news ticker told of an explosion in Dublin. The Sharpeye offices appeared in ruins. The terrorist group Accountability Without Borders claimed responsibility, citing a drone strike on a school in Syria. She vomited.
