The second Sligo Sci-Fi comedy night is on next Tuesday (7th Feb) at 8pm in McLynns bar, Old market Street.
It’s the last blast of comedy before the big trip to Pláinéad Mars (15th Feb at 6pm in McLynns). The big trip will be a free experimental comedy/ SF adventure. It’ll last about an hour and is part of the SO Funny Comedy Fringe Festival …and will have ya in a good mood for the rest of the evening.
The lineup for the 7th has eight acts with a ten min drink break in the middle. It’ll start with Sligo’s Queen of one liners, Heidi Stemp. Localman Philip Steels will follow her with some sharp observations on life in the town. John Burke is the third act -expect surreal deadpan comedy. The first half finishes up with a touch of slapstick from RTE Junior’s Jay Ryan.
Part two of the night begins with Jay Starliper, fresh from Sligo’s new Improv night and he’ll be bringing a mix of standup and improvised comedy. The sixth act is Dara McKenna -expect some quirky observations on life, love, and living with autism. Following Dara will be Terry Markey -Terry is just back from playing ‘Show me the funny’ in Galway and will be bringing some comic observations on middle age. The final act will be Julie Gillen -expect the night to finish with some very blue comic descriptions of modern romance.
